pkgoldrate.com is an information service. The rates, charts, calculators and commentary on this site are published to help you understand the gold and silver market — not to advise you on what to do in it. Please read this page before acting on any figure you find here.
1. Information only, never advice
Nothing on this website constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal or religious advice, and nothing here should be treated as a recommendation, solicitation or offer to buy or sell any asset. We are not licensed financial advisers, we do not know your circumstances, and we cannot assess whether any decision is appropriate for you.
If you are making a decision of consequence — a large purchase, a sale of inherited jewellery, an investment allocation — please consult a qualified professional who can consider your full position.
2. Prices are estimates, not quotes
Every price published here is derived from international spot data combined with a modelled local premium. They are not offers, and no dealer, jeweller or exchange is obliged to transact at them.
The price you are actually quoted at a counter will differ, because a retail price also includes:
- Making charges — the cost of turning bullion into a finished piece
- Wastage — a percentage some jewellers add on top of making charges
- Design and stone premiums — for anything beyond plain gold
- Applicable tax — which varies by jurisdiction and transaction type
- The individual dealer's margin — which is a commercial decision, not a published rate
Always confirm the final price with your jeweller before committing to a transaction. Use our gold price calculator to model what those extras add, but treat the result as an estimate, not a quotation.
3. No warranty of accuracy or availability
We take reasonable care to keep this site accurate and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that:
- Any rate is error-free, complete or current at the moment you read it
- The site will be uninterrupted, timely or free of defects
- Historical data is complete for any given period
- Calculations will suit any particular purpose
Third-party data providers, network conditions, exchange-rate timing and upstream outages can all introduce delay or error beyond our control. Each page displays the timestamp of its last successful update so you can judge freshness for yourself.
4. Market risk
Gold and silver prices move, sometimes sharply and sometimes quickly. Past price behaviour shown in our charts and history tables is a record of what happened, not an indication of what will happen. Precious metals can fall in value as well as rise, and currency movement can amplify either direction for a buyer holding Pakistani rupees.
Physical gold also carries costs that a price chart does not show: the dealer spread between buying and selling, secure storage, insurance, and deductions for non-gold weight when reselling finished jewellery.
5. Calculators and tools
Our calculators apply live rates to figures you enter. Their output is only as good as those inputs and the assumptions behind them.
- The price calculator uses making charges and tax rates that you set — it does not know what your jeweller charges.
- The weight converter performs exact arithmetic but cannot verify the weight or purity of any physical item.
- The Zakat calculator is addressed separately below.
6. Religious guidance
Our Zakat calculator applies live market prices to the standard nisab thresholds — 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver — and the conventional 2.5% rate. It is a planning tool, not a fatwa.
Scholarly positions differ on several relevant questions, including the treatment of jewellery in personal use, which nisab to apply when wealth is mixed, the deductibility of debts, and the treatment of business assets. For rulings specific to your circumstances, please consult a qualified scholar.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, pkgoldrate.com and its operators, employees and contributors accept no liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise — arising from use of, or reliance on, information published on this site. This expressly includes trading losses, missed opportunities, and decisions made on the basis of a stale, delayed or incorrect figure.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Third-party content and links
Some data on this site originates from third-party providers. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness or availability of third-party data, nor for the content of any external website we link to. An outbound link is not an endorsement.
9. Changes
We may revise this disclaimer, our methodology and the figures we publish at any time and without notice. The last-updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. This disclaimer forms part of our terms of use.
